Applications are invited from PPA members who have been qualified for at least two years to apply for the next Senior Membership Course that will run from April 2017 for two years.
The aim of the course is to help colleagues deepen and intensify their clinical work. It is our intention that the requirements of the course fit comfortably within a pre-existing private practice. The extra work that is required is usually offset by the rewards of increased work satisfaction and the opportunity to meet with and learn about the work of new colleagues. It is also hoped that course members will benefit from the new teaching arrangements that will make it easier for those attending from further afield.
The course is taught over five Saturday mornings (10.00-13.15) per term by leading clinicians and will be divided between theory and clinical seminars. Two three times per week cases will be seen in tandem with the teaching. Each case will be supervised fortnightly by a different approved training supervisor. We anticipate that some of the topics covered will include among others: Contemporary Approaches to Narcissism, Dreams & the Unconscious, Technique: Post- Kleinian,Freudian & Independent approaches, Perverse States of Mind, Interpretation.
