Yesterday\, today\, and tomorrow\, &ndas h\; whether &lsquo\;in a faraway country of which we know nothing'\; or on our own doorsteps or i n the secrecy of homes afflicted by violence - eve nts in the world confront us by all that we would call &lsquo\;inhuman&rsquo\; and require us to que stion the very nature of our species. This Confere nce takes place at a time when\, only a submicrosc opic virus rivals humankind in its destructive cap acity towards other living beings.\n \n &lsquo\;Th e Violent Human&rsquo\; - is an exploration of the origins and expression of violence in human perso nal and social relationships in its many manifesta tions (including on the environment) at the differ ent stages of life from childhood to adulthood. Th e conference will examine the role of psychotherap y in the prevention and treatment of violence\, wh ether in the individual or the group.
