working with adolescents: current practice - day conference & book launch

The bpf is bringing together experienced professionals working with young people to discuss and showcase effective methods of helping severely troubled adolescents and their families, that is open to all professionals working with, or interested in the mental health of young people.

The programme showcases effective interventions underpinned by psychoanalytic approaches and shaped by multi-disciplinary clinical research and begins with a presentation on applying the Adolescent Mentalisation Based Integrative Therapy in SE London followed by presentations on the NICE recommended treatment, the Short Term Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (STPP) model of work with severe adolescent depression and their parents and many other approaches to reach severely troubled adolescents.

The day culminates in the launch of Ann Horne’s new book “On Children Who Privilege the Body: Reflections of an Independent Psychotherapist” which brings together selected papers from her career and draws upon her considerable experience in the field of child and adolescent mental health.
