Description
Join us for an online open evening to find out more about the British Psychotherapy Foundation’s Couple Psychodynamic Psychotherapy training and the launch of our new Certificate in Psychodynamic Couple Theory.
This event is for qualified clinicians interested in deepening their understanding of psychodynamic and psychoanalytic approaches to working with couples. It will introduce both the full clinical qualifying training and the new standalone theory certificate, helping prospective applicants consider which route may be most appropriate for them.
The full Couple Psychodynamic Psychotherapy training is a BPC-accredited, two-year postgraduate clinical training for clinicians who wish to work in depth with the emotional problems of the couple relationship. It integrates clinical work, theory seminars and clinical seminars, and supports clinicians to develop their capacity to understand unconscious couple dynamics, conflict, intimacy, sexuality, attachment, emotional development and the impact of difference, diversity and discrimination in intimate relationships.
We will also introduce the Certificate in Psychodynamic Couple Theory, a new two-year programme forming the theoretical component of the clinical qualifying training. The certificate may also be taken as a standalone CPD course by qualified clinicians who wish to engage deeply with psychoanalytic and psychodynamic thinking about couple relationships, without immediately undertaking the full clinical component of the training.
The evening will offer an opportunity to learn more about the structure of both routes, the theoretical orientation of the training, entry requirements and the application process. There will also be time to ask questions.
This event will be particularly relevant for psychoanalytic psychotherapists, psychodynamic psychotherapists, psychoanalysts, child psychotherapists, group psychotherapists, counsellors, psychologists and other qualified clinicians who are curious about developing their work with couples.
