International Psychoanalytic Trauma Conference
The call for papers is now open for our International conference on psychoanalysis and complex trauma, which will take place online on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 November 2025 via Zoom.
This inaugural event will be hosted in collaboration with the South African Psychoanalytic Clinics Johannesburg (JHB) and bring together clinicians, researchers, and thinkers from across the globe to explore how psychoanalytic ideas can help us understand complex trauma in today’s world and best support traumatised individuals. Keynote speakers, Alessandra Lemma and Gail Lewis, have already been confirmed and the conference will provide multiple opportunities to develop new international connections, including through small group work. Our hope is that this conference will sustain and build a new psychoanalytic trauma community.
We’re particularly keen to receive submissions that reflect a range of voices and experiences including those working with marginalised groups, on community projects, trauma-informed care or neurobiology and other research. Proposals can be for a plenary presentation of 45 minutes or a shorter parallel paper for workshops of 35 minutes.
The deadline for proposals is Friday 29 August 2025. Full details and submission guidelines are available on our website.
As well as details about our call for papers, you’ll also be able to book with our early bird booking discount (20%) which is running until Sunday 31 August 2025.
