Alongside concern for survival there has been a great deal of activity within the BJAA over the last 10 years. 10 years because 2015 was when BJAA members came together on a very well attended workshop day called ‘Picking up the Gauntlet’ to consider responses to Farhad Dalal’s 1988 paper, Jung a Racist. At around the same time members were also raising concerns regarding the relevance and accessibility of the training in the contemporary world in particular from a socio-economic perspective. Since then, as well as teaching, lectures and published work of individual members of the BJAA, members have engaged in various group activities to discuss implications of and engagement with contemporary issues for theory, training and practice. Out of these activities a new approach to theory teaching and a new psychotherapy training arrived in the BJAA village.
How do we work as a collective to ensure what we have created can thrive and develop?
This is the question we will address together in this Winter Gathering.
