About The Event
This is an Open Challenge so not everyone on the trip will be taking part for the bpf and may be fundraising for other great causes.
Stretching for miles between Old Harry Rocks in Dorset, to Orcombe Point in East Devon, the Jurassic Coast – England’s first Natural World Heritage Site – is the most geologically diverse coastline in the world. The exposed cliff sections allow you to look back through 185 million years of time; dinosaur remains have been found here, and it’s a fossil-hunter’s paradise.
Over two unforgettable days, we trek approximately 23 miles along one of the UK’s most iconic coastlines—the Jurassic Coast. This challenging route offers some of the region’s most breathtaking scenery, including the dramatic natural stone arch of Durdle Door and the stunning, horseshoe-shaped Lulworth Cove.
The terrain is demanding, with steep ascents and descents across rugged headlands—there’s little flat ground, but every step rewards you with sweeping views and a deep sense of accomplishment.
Rich in natural beauty and layered with human history, this stretch of coast also tells tales of mining, shipwrecks, and smuggling. After a full day of hiking, we rest and recharge at a welcoming campsite located a short distance from our route.
“I had a fantastic weekend completing the Jurassic Coast Challenge. It was the perfect mix of tough trekking, beautiful scenery and chatting to lovely people. Can’t wait to plan the next one!” – Beccy
‘Very informative and nothing is too much trouble for the wonderful crew. My second challenge with DA and I could not praise them enough. Lovely location, professional and friendly staff and all planned to perfection. DA is the leader in adventure travel in my eyes, no way I’d go anywhere else. Thank you so much.” – Craig
