Leave a gift in your Will

Together, we will ensure that more people have access to the support they need—not just today, but for generations to come.

Free online Will writing services

Thank you for taking the time to explore leaving a gift in your Will. We know that writing your Will can seem daunting. We’ve partnered with Make a Will Online so that anyone aged 18 or over can easily write or update a simple Will for FREE. This is paid for by the bpf, but you are under no obligation to leave us a gift to take advantage of the service. You can choose to donate the cost of making the Will (£40.00) to the bpf when using the service.

By leaving a gift in your Will, you’ll help us to continue training skilled psychotherapists that reflect the communities in which they live and serve.

The bpf is dedicated to making our psychotherapy training and low-fee clinical services both equitable and affordable, ensuring that a broader and more diverse range of people can easily access them.

Leaving a gift in your Will

Making a Will and keeping it up to date is essential when making sure that your loved ones will benefit in the way you intended after you die.

Legacies to registered charities are tax-exempt. If you leave money to us in your Will, it will be paid out before inheritance tax is deducted, reducing the total amount of tax paid on the estate.

Your privacy and your choices

When you make a Will online using our dedicated link, we receive certain information about the will-writing process, such as when a will is made, the types of gifts included, your name, year of birth, and contact details. This helps us understand supporter engagement and plan for the future.

If you choose to share your contact preferences, we may get in touch to say thank you and keep you updated. We also understand that some supporters prefer complete confidentiality. If you would like to leave a gift without notifying us, you can create your Will using this alternative link to Make a Will Online.

Whichever route you choose, we are deeply grateful for your thoughtfulness and support.

How your gift can make a difference

By leaving a gift in your Will, you’ll help us to continue growing the pool of skilled psychotherapists that reflect the communities in which they live and serve. We will extend our reach with a more diverse and geographically accessible workforce, helping more people who need it access intensive and long-term psychotherapy support, an essential element of building a healthier society.

We will continue to offer low-fee schemes to access therapy, which are essential for making mental health care more equitable, helping to address the mental health needs of individuals across diverse socio-economic backgrounds.

We want people to access the support they need to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives, without the financial barriers holding them back.

Some situations are better handled through personalised legal advice. If you already have a solicitor, feel more comfortable discussing matters in person, or have a large or complex estate, we encourage you to use a local solicitor.

This is also recommended where there are concerns relating to cognitive health, medication, or conditions such as dementia. You can find qualified solicitors via the Law Society website.

If you choose this route, please ensure your solicitor includes our correct details:
