About
There are times in life when you might feel overwhelmed with feelings or by events. Talking about it with a professionally trained therapist can provide some grounding to understand yourself.
I aim to provide a nurturing environment. There is usually no formal structure to the content of the sessions. You will be invited to speak about your current situation, personal difficulties and anything that is on your mind. You might have a specific topic you would like to explore with me. You might be facing a period of change, or a crisis.
During the sessions, I pay attention to the whole of your psyche, including non verbal communication. We might discuss your dreams and think about what is happening in your life right now as well as your earlier life.
When I am contacted for therapy, I offer one, sometime two initial consultations to think together about starting therapy.
I offer psychodynamic psychotherapy services to adults. Individual appointments last for 50 minutes and are held at regular intervals, once-weekly, including Saturdays.
I have experience working in the NHS. I am also the MSc course director at the British Psychotherapy Foundation.
I currently have space for low fee weekly therapy (excluding Saturdays). This place is for anyone on a low income (student, adult, new mother, or retired older adult etc).
I am also looking for a training patient who would commit to a 2 -year, 3 x times a week therapeutic work. This work is part of a further training in Jungian analysis. Contact me for further information.
