Experiential Group Facilitators

Closing Date: June 10th, 2026

Dates of work: 4 in-person weekend delivery days at the bpf house on 5–6 September 2026 and 26–27 September 2026 (plus brief preparation and planning meetings). There is scope to facilitate future experiential weekends after the initial pilot in September 2026.

Location: bpf House, 37 Mapesbury Road, NW2 4HJ.

Remuneration: £2000 per facilitator/teacher for delivery of the 2 weekends

Contract type: Temporary

About the Role

We are looking for four experienced facilitators/teachers (two psychoanalytic and two Jungian) to deliver Awakening the Inner World, an experiential weekend introducing core psychoanalytic and Jungian ideas to beginners. The weekend is designed for those curious about depth psychology, psychotherapy, and inner life, with no prior clinical training required. It is particularly suited to individuals considering applying for a bpf training but unsure which pathway to pursue or what analytic study might involve. The weekend provides a safe, low-pressure way to explore these questions.

We will be running the experiential weekends on 2 separate occasions in September: 5–6 September 2026 AND 26–27 September 2026. Each weekend is standalone and there will be different participants on each weekend.  Please note that, ideally, we intend for the same team of facilitators/teachers to lead both weekends.

Facilitators will work collaboratively with the bpf team to create a thoughtful, inclusive, and containing learning environment. Theory will be balanced with lived experience throughout the weekend. Group process, experiential activities, and reflective exercises will be used to bring analytic ideas to life in ways that resonate personally as well as intellectually.

Facilitators will be expected to create a warm, non-judgmental space in which all voices feel welcome, and to support participants who may be engaging with this kind of work for the first time. A central element of the ethos is honouring both the vulnerability and courage involved in beginning a psychotherapeutic journey. Facilitators should be able to hold the group(s) with sensitivity, curiosity, and respect for each person’s pace.

You can find out more about the course here: Awakening the Inner World: An Experiential Weekend for Beginners – The British Psychotherapy Foundation
