Data Protection

The bpf relies on ‘legitimate interest’ as its lawful basis in order to collect information. Such information is read with ‘substantial public interest’ for any other sensitive piece of information that we may receive from you and that has special categories of data. If you are successful in our application, we will continue to process your information on the lawful basis of contractual obligation for the duration of the course and up to a period of 7 years post completion. If you are unsuccessful in your application, we will store your information for a period of 2 years, after which it will be deleted.

Infant Observation Course

On the Infant Observation course the student observes the baby for two years. However, as it takes time to find a baby, the student will inevitably attend seminars for longer than two years. Each term of seminars attended in addition to the basic two years, will be charged pro rata. Thank you for applying to the bpf Infant Observation Course. If your application is accepted you will be invited to two interviews to reflect together with the interviewers on your readiness to undertake this in-depth study. We recommend leaving at least one week between interviews. Interviews are personal in nature and may stir up strong feelings in you, as will the experience of infant observation itself.

Important Information

Parents of infants 0-12 months old are advised not to begin observations until their child has turned 1 year old. You should take into account that it may take you some time to find a baby to observe. We will support you in this. If you have not found a baby after three terms of seminars we will review your situation with you in an individual tutorial.

Personal Psychotherapy

Please note that for the entire duration of the course you are required to be in Psychoanalytic or Jungian Psychotherapy at least once weekly.
