Description

Welcome to the seventh of the IPCAPA Masterclass Supervision series 2024-25. This series offers a live online space for IPCAPA child and adolescent psychoanalytic psychotherapists to present their clinical work to a senior child psychotherapy clinician, in the presence of a professional audience.

It is an opportunity to observe an Independent approach in practice, and to gain a deeper understanding of how we work with children, adolescents and young adults. It is also an opportunity to share thoughts and observations about clinical material from different perspectives which enriches all our work.

We are delighted that Dr Eva Crasnow is going to be in the supervisor’s chair for this event.

Dr Eva Crasnow qualified from IPCAPA in 2013. She worked in generic CAMHS and then moved into specialist services, including the Gender Service at the Tavistock, Islington Child Looked After Team, Forensic CAMHS at the Portman Clinic, and co-led the Brent Harrow Hillingdon Under 5s Team. She worked in the Early Years Team at the Anna Freud Centre from 2015 to 2022. Eva and Dr Sarah Peter established Chorus in 2023, a social enterprise that provides therapeutic interventions for families with children under 5 who face or have faced adversity, www.chorusfamilies.co.uk. Eva is passionate about infant observation and has been part of the BPF infant observation committee since qualification, as well as facilitating observation seminars in other organisations.

'I am very pleased that Rochelle Rodney -Massop will be presenting her clinical material, on a young child whom she started to see as her intensive under-5 patient.

Rochelle Rodney-Massop is a child and adolescent psychotherapist in her third year at IPCAPA, and also on the Jungian stream. She is based in a London CAMHS service working across the 0-5 and generic team.

Here, Rochelle gets a wide range of clinical experience working with children, adolescents and parents/carers with a diverse range of need.  Prior to the training, Rochelle worked for some time in a local nursery as a nursery assistant.  Alongside her pre-clinical training at Birbeck, Rochelle  undertook a 2 year infant observation.  These experiences have provided her with a solid foundation for working with children  and young people across the age range and developmental stages

The event will allow time for thoughts and questions from the audience and we look forward to seeing you. '

Ferelyth Watt – Chair IPCAPA
